The True Size of Sovngarde | Skyrim in UNREAL ENGINE 5! [4K]

Part of an ongoing project to visualise a more realistic and lore-accurate scale to Tamriel – so here’s Sovngarde – now with sixteen times the detail! Sovngarde’s a bit of an interesting one – do spirits even need houses? If not, then why do they need a hall? Is it like heaven? Or purgatory? Lore-wise, there’s even some debate if it’s even in Aetherius at all…?

I don’t really know – maybe overthinking it here. I just made this version kind of a mix of Asgard from Thor and Olympus from Percy Jackson. Maybe a bit of Hallmark Christmas town thrown in there?

This is also playing around with the Megalights feature – 2500+ dynamic point lights in this scene – all movable and shadow casting. Pretty wild stuff, although there can be a bit of flickering on fast movement.

Rendered out in Unreal Engine 5.5 on an RTX 3090. Using a mix of third-party models and custom assets modelled and textured in Blender. Nanite was used for all models and foliage; Lumen for global illumination and reflections. DLAA was used for all anti-aliasing.
